“How ridiculous and how strange to be surprised at anything which happens in life.”

—Marcus Aurelius

Meditations

Life, by its very nature, is unpredictable—it tosses us curveballs, throws us off course, and often laughs in the face of our meticulously laid plans.

To be shocked every time something unexpected occurs is to deny this fundamental truth. It’s like being surprised each time we take a breath; it’s just part of being alive.

How do you react when things don't go your way?

Instead of allowing surprise to morph into frustration or inconvenience, pause, and reflect. Accept these moments as part of the rich tapestry of living. By doing so, you acknowledge you're not in control of every single aspect of life.

And in this acknowledgment, you'll find a certain peace and resilience that comes from knowing that while the unexpected is guaranteed, your reaction to it is entirely up to you.

How will you choose to respond the next time life throws you a curveball?
