Any Outcome Will Do

April 11th

“Demand not that things happen as you wish, but wish them to happen as they do, and you will go on well.”

—Epictetus

Enchiridion

Instead of fighting a strong current to navigate upstream, why not instead use your energy to navigate expertly through the flow?

When we spend our days longing for reality to bend to our will, we set ourselves up for frustration. Picture yourself at work, hoping for a quiet day to focus, but a crisis arises. You can either resist and stew in irritation or adapt and address the challenge with composure.

Which approach will leave you feeling more at peace by day’s end?

How often do you catch yourself thinking, I wish this hadn't happened? Now, what if you replaced that thought with, This has happened, let's deal with it with ease? By wishing for things to happen just as they do, we embrace life as it unfolds, which paradoxically, often leads to a smoother ride.

Today, notice when things don't go 'your way' and experiment with welcoming the moment as a friend. Ask yourself, How can I align with what's happening right now?

The art of flowing with life isn't about giving up your power; it's about choosing to engage with life on its own terms, creating a journey marked by tranquility rather than turmoil.
