Trust Begets Trust

March 9th

“Regard a friend as loyal, and you will make them loyal.”

—Seneca

Letters From A Stoic

There is power in our perceptions and the energy we project onto others.

When we choose to see a friend as trustworthy, our behavior towards them is suffused with trust and positivity. This approach creates a self-fulfilling prophecy; by treating our friends as if they are loyal, we encourage that very loyalty to flourish.

Think about it: when someone believes in our best qualities, don't we strive to live up to that belief?

Consider for a moment the relationships in your life. Are you nurturing trust or sowing seeds of doubt? By actively choosing to believe in the loyalty of your friends, you not only bolster the foundation of your relationships, but you also invite an atmosphere of mutual respect and fidelity.

Your belief in them can act as a catalyst for their actions, reinforcing the bonds that tie you together.

As you move through today, ask yourself—are you seeing and treating your friends in a way that reflects the loyalty you wish to receive?
