“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.”

—Marcus Aurelius

Meditations

Consider the unexpected events and people that have come into your life; they're not random. They're threads in the intricate tapestry of your existence, each with a purpose.

Fate has a hand in weaving this pattern—perhaps you're in a job you didn't plan on or you've met a friend in an unusual place. Accept these scenarios not begrudgingly, but wholeheartedly. Stop fighting the current; flow with it. What areas of your life are you resisting because they weren't part of your plan?

Now let's talk about the second part of the equation: the people.

Our lives are made rich and meaningful through relationships, yet so often we take them for granted. The Stoics ask you to not just co-exist with your family, friends, and even strangers fate places on your path, but to cherish them.

When was the last time you expressed genuine love or gratitude to someone simply because fate had you cross paths?

Love actively and with vigor. You were brought together for a reason—find joy and purpose in that connection.

Today, look at the people around you: can you offer them your heartfelt appreciation for simply being a part of your fate?
