Your Thoughts Change You

March 13th

“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.”

—Marcus Aurelius

Meditations

Imagine your mind as a white fabric, pristine and unmarked. Now, consider every thought you have as a drop of dye on that fabric. Over time, the nature of your thoughts—positive or negative, angry or peaceful, bitter or content—will transform the color of your inner self.

Marcus reminds us that we are, in essence, the sum of our thoughts. If you marinate in pessimism, your soul will take on a darker hue; if you regularly bask in gratitude or optimism, it will become brighter. Which color is your soul starting to take on today?

In the practical bustle of daily life, each thought might seem inconsequential, like a tiny splash barely noticed.

But pause for a moment—what colors are you choosing with your thoughts? When you wake up to a day that's not going as planned, do you let frustration stain your soul's fabric? Or do you reach for the brush of patience, painting resilience into the weave of your being?

Every situation, each interaction, is an opportunity to consciously select the thoughts that will dye your soul.

Remember, the palette is in your hands; what shades will you choose to live with today?
