All Things Are In Flux

November 8th

“Let your mind constantly dwell on the changes of the elements into each other. Such imaginings wash away the filth of life on the ground.”

—Marcus Aurelius

Meditations

"All things are in flux." Remember this as you navigate daily life—transformations are as commonplace as the rising and setting of the sun. Pay attention to the natural cycle of life; the leaves turning color in the fall, an apple rotting after you neglect it, or water evaporating on a hot day. We learn from Marcus that life's impermanence is the great cleanser; it washes away the muck that sticks to us, revealing our true form.

Now, ask yourself, where in your life are you resisting change? Is there a situation or a person that's causing you unhappiness? Understand that like the water, leaves, and the apple, this too shall change. Embrace the flow, let go of the mire, and find your grounding in this transformative process.

It's through accepting this reality that we can free ourselves from the dirt and grime that life invariably throws our way. Channel your energy into adapting to change rather than resisting it, for it is the only true constant in life.
