Move With Purpose
“So long, in fact, as you remain in ignorance of what to aim at and what to avoid, what is essential and what is superfluous, what is upright or honorable conduct and what is not, it will not be traveling but drifting.”
—Seneca
Letters From A Stoic
In our daily hustle, it's easy to equate busyness with purpose. But Seneca suggests we question this notion.
Imagine life as a vast ocean and you, aboard your vessel. Without a compass—your values and goals—you'll most likely find yourself adrift, carried by the current of external expectations and fleeting trends.
Ask yourself: what are you steering towards today? What are the guiding stars of your personal and professional life, and are you truly navigating by them, or are you simply being tossed by the waves of distraction and societal pressure?
To travel purposefully, we must discern what matters from what merely clamors for our attention.
Strip away the superfluous and hone in on your true north.
Is that scrolling session contributing to your voyage, or could you reallocate those precious moments to activities that align with your deeper aspirations?
Reflect on your daily choices—do they mirror what you deem 'upright' and 'honorable'?
Only once you define and commit to your destination can you shift from aimlessly drifting to intentionally journeying through life.
So, how will you adjust your sails today?
